David has spoken for the motion 'Grammar schools are best' at a debate hosted by the Spectator Magazine on Tuesday 23rd June, 2009.
After the debate, Matthew D'Ancona, Editor of the Spectator, said:
'David Davis, the former Shadow Home Secretary, and long-time champion of grammar schools, kicked off proceedings with an impassioned defence of the selective system. “Every chance I had,” he said, “was created by my grammar school”.
